I have lots of other activities like school, work, etc, how much time do I need to commit?
It all comes down to where you stand in the fraternity. If you choose to take advantage of leadership roles within the fraternity, then more time would be required. You get from the fraternity exactly what you put in.
Why should I join Beta Theta Pi rather than any other fraternity?
Beta Theta Pi has a long, nationwide presence of brotherhood that lasts a lifetime. Beta offers the opportunity to get involved with the Colony in a leadership role immediately. We open doors to getting involved on campus and building your resume. We have an extensive alumni base that helps extensively when it comes to networking for the future with employment opportunities or other ventures. We are involved with the community and work hard to support numerous philanthropies, which looks great for future employers and builds character. We also offer the opportunity to play in intramurals immediately, instead of riding the bench because you're new. Finally, we have one of the most diverse, yet tight-knit, brotherhoods on campus. From bookworms and athletes, to social guys and video gamers. From guys born in Buffalo, New York, to guys who just moved here from Egypt, our fraternity encompasses a wide variety of personalities and backgrounds, yet we can all sit down and have lunch together, call anyone up to help jump a car battery, or help each other out with some studying.

I am afraid that if I join a Fraternity, I will be associated with the negative stereotypes that go with Fraternities. How would I avoid this problem by joining Beta?
We are well aware of the stereotypes that are perceived by the public regarding Fraternities. In response, we strive to battle and defeat those stereotypes. We strive to instill principles and standards onto our members that reflect those held by Beta Theta Pi’s founders such as a commitment to the community and the cultivation of intellect that increase our credibility and accountability.

What is the chapter's outlook on social events and social life, in general?
Our chapter is an eclectic assembly of individuals, with different outlooks on social life. As such, it is the case that there are brothers who abstain from participating drinking at our social events, and those that partake in such activities. According the principles emphasized by the fraternity at large. Our chapter strives to balance the fun of social life with the stability of moderation. We feel that it is important for us to aim for excellence academically coupled with on-campus leadership, while living up to the social aspect a fraternity entails.
Will my involvement in Beta Theta Pi impede my ability to focus on my studies?
Participation in Beta is if anything, conducive to one's ability to excel academically. The fraternity places a strong emphasis on the academic success of all members, and as such, we mutually encourage each other to place our studies above all other activities we partake in, and try to help one another whenever possible. We require a minimum 2.7 semester GPA from our members, being the first fraternity to ever require a minimum GPA from its members. We emphasize that our members find a balance between study and social life. The fraternity's commitment to the cultivation of the intellect assures that academic excellence remains a vital part of Beta life.

Does Beta allow hazing?
Our chapter has taken a strong stance against hazing of any kind. We believe that degrading one's own character reflects poorly on the fraternity as a whole, and is not conducive to the development of brotherhood.
